ALAN VEGA LIVE AT ROCKPALAST (1982)

A live album and concert film recorded on June 4, 1982, at the Sartory Säle (Cologne, Germany) during Alan Vega´s Collision Drive tour and released in 2023 as part of the “play loud! (live) music series.”

The recording captures Vega’s intense solo performance for the German television program Rockpalast, produced by Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Backed by raw rockabilly energy, Vega delivers a powerful set.

The vinyl edition includes an eight-page booklet and a DVD featuring the complete 1982 concert performance. In addition, the DVD presents footage from Vega’s 2002 art exhibition, “Alan Suicide: Collision Drive,” at Deitch Projects—his first exhibition in 18 years—alongside an extended conversation between the artist and filmmakers Dietmar Post and Lucía Palacios.

Notably, both the 1982 concert and the 2002 exhibition shared the title Collision Drive, a phrase that aptly reflects the driving force behind Vega’s music and visual art.
